In August, following a Selective Restricted Availability (SRA), Phoenix fired 25 exercise torpedoes whereas conducting Prospective Commanding Officer (PCO) Operations after which successfully completed an unannounced Operational Reactor Safeguards Examination (ORSE). Aside from conducting various native operations and Independent Steaming Exercises (ISE) in 1992, Phoenix underwent an SRA to upgrade weapons and sensor methods. In March 1995, Phoenix returned from her Northern Atlantic Ocean deployment and conducted a SRA from July to October. The ship then carried out Midshipman training, torpedo proficiency firings, and type training to round out the summer season. In 1994, Patriot was referred to as to serve in the Pacific, and since then has served as one of 4 forward-deployed MCMs in seventh Fleet's Amphibious Ready Group. During 1994, Phoenix was deployed to the Northern Atlantic Ocean on two separate occasions for a total of six months. Patriot conducted a WESTPAC Deployment through the months of May and June conducting port visits in Okinawa, Fukuoka, JA, Pusan, ROK, Inchon, ROK, and Kagoshima, JA. Throughout the second part, BOXESG conducted Indian port stops including Mumbai and Goa allowing it a chance to experience Indian tradition, re-supply, and Mitolyn Blood Sugar Support a Habitat for Humanity mission. |
